Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 April 2026Just a Text Editor (the “app”) is a standalone text and code editor for Android, distributed on the Google Play Store. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
1. Information we collect
None.
The app does not collect, process, transmit, or store any personal data, usage data, device identifiers, telemetry, diagnostics, analytics, or crash reports. The app does not create or maintain a user account.
2. Your files
The app opens and saves files using Android’s Storage Access Framework (SAF). Files you open or save remain on your device, or on storage locations you have explicitly granted access to through Android — for example, an SD card or a cloud storage provider you have configured in Android as a document source. The app:
- does not upload, copy, or transmit your files or their contents off your device,
- does not read files outside the locations you explicitly select,
- does not retain access to files after you close them beyond the standard Android persistent permissions you have granted for re-opening recent files.
File content, undo history, tab state, and session data are stored locally in the app’s private storage and are never sent anywhere.
If you open a file that is hosted by a cloud storage provider through SAF, any synchronisation between that provider and its servers is performed by that provider, not by this app, and is governed by that provider’s own privacy policy.
3. Networking
The app has no network access. It does not declare or request the INTERNET permission in its Android manifest. This is a structural guarantee: the app cannot make network connections.
4. Analytics, crash reporting, and advertising
The app contains:
- No analytics (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar),
- No crash reporting (no Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag, or similar),
- No advertising (no ad SDKs, no tracking SDKs, no third-party identifiers),
- No telemetry of any kind.
5. Third-party services
The app does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs that process your data.
Distribution and payment are handled by the Google Play Store. Google’s own collection of Play Store account, install, and billing information is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy and is outside our control.
6. Permissions
The app requests only the Android capabilities it needs to function:
- Storage Access Framework (no runtime permission required): to open and save files at locations you explicitly choose.
The app does not request access to contacts, location, camera, microphone, phone, SMS, or any other sensitive permission.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children, but it is safe for users of any age: it collects no data, contains no ads, and provides no social or network features.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
Because the app does not collect, store, or process any personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, export, or erase. If you believe you have a concern under UK GDPR about this app, you may contact us at the address below, or raise a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Because the app collects no data, material changes are unlikely.
